WEED INTERFERENCE IN CARROT YIELD IN TWO LOCALIZED IRRIGATION SYSTEMS

ABSTRACT Weed interference is one of the factors that reduces carrot yield considerably. The aim this study was to determine periods weed in carrots cultivated under two localized irrigation systems. experiment used a completely randomized block design, with three replications, using split plot scheme. plots consisted systems (drip and micro sprinkler) subplots corresponded duration coexistence crop weeds, comprising control (weed -free) or (with weeds) (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 days after emergence (DAE) crop). Considering loss 2.5%, 5%, 10% marketable carrots, beginning end critical period (CPWC) determined by adjusting sigmoid model relative production data. presence community throughout cycle resulted losses up 98%. CPWP varied for used. Carrot cultivation without competition, sprinkler system showed higher than drip system. CPWC 23 DAE 7 systems, respectively.
